Dopo quattro anni di pausa, Usher si ricorda di essere uno dei più apprezzati cantanti r&b e si presta a pubblicare il suo sesto disco 'Here I Stand'.

Attesissimo da tutti gli appassionati di musica soul e r&b, questo album decisamente lungo (19 tracce), ha il compito di eguagliare le milionarie vendite dei due precedenti cd del cantante attore americano (Dallas) '8701' del 2001, e 'Confessions' del 2004, quest'ultimo passato alla storia per i tre brani piazzati contemporaneamente nelle classifiche r&b: 'Yeah!', 'Confession, Pt.2' e 'Burn'.

Usher è certamente in questo momento uno dei più brillanti talenti del suo genere, ed il seguito di fans, con il grande successo di vendite, ne avvallano lindiscusso valore artistico e commerciale. Quindi per essere sicuri di non incappare in qualche passo falso, la superstar non rischia niente, e chiama alla collaborazione dell'album, il gota dei produttori; Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Jermaine Dupri e T-Pain.

Dal disco è già stato pubblicato un primo singolo 'Love In This Club' Feat. Young Jeezy, già al numero 1° della classifica di Billboard Hot 100, e attualmente sceso al n° 4.

After a four-year break, Usher's fifth set is bursting with grown man, true-to-life tales like leaving his player ways behind ("Before I Met You"), falling in love ("Something Special," "Lifetime" and the title track), making love ("This Ain't Sex") and having a child ("Prayer for You," featuring a weeping Usher Raymond V, his new baby son). Grown-up relationships drive "His Mistakes," about a woman who is scarred by a past fling, the piano-and-drum-laden "Best Thing" featuring Jay-Z and "What's a Man to Do," which finds Usher belting about loving two women at once. Still, tracks like the naughty "Love in This Club," the sensual "Trading Places" ("You get on top/ tonight I'm on the bottom") and the Danja-produced "Appetite," about his desire for sex, confirm Usher still hasn't lost his young boy charm.—

Paul Weller nuovo album '22 Dreams', 21 nuove canzoni per il Modfather ex Jam e Style Council.

Ha trentanni di carriera alle spalle Paul Weller, ma di idee ne ha ancora da vendere e in grande quantità, a tal punto che questo 22 Dreams è il nono lavoro che realizza in studio. (Uscita prevista per il 2 giugno). Il disco molto impegnativo - ben 21 tracce - vede tra le tante collaborazioni anche due Oasis; Noel Gallagher e Gem Archer, che hanno portato il loro contributo alla stesura di 'Echoes Round The Sun'. Altre guest-star presenti nel cd; Steve Cradock degli 'Ocean Colour Scene', e l'ex chitarrista dei 'Blur' Graham Coxon.

Weller in attesa della pubblicazione del disco - e per tenere in caldo i suoi fans - mette sul mercato un primo singolo con due canzoni, prese ovviamente dal cd; 'Have You Made Up Your Mind' e 'Echoes Round The Sun', due ottimi brani di un (classico indie rock britannico), che prende ispirazione sia dalle sue precedenti produzione musicali, non che, dalle proposte del nuovo panorama rock inglese.

L'album è stato registrate nello suo studio personale; il Weller's Black Barn studio nel Surrey, e prodotto da Simon Dine e dallo stesso Weller.

'22 Dreams' is the ninth studio album from "The Modfather" Paul Weller. Recorded at Weller's Black Barn Studios in Surrey and produced by Simon Dine and Weller himself, the album is a mix of classic British indie rock that takes inspiration from Weller's three decades of musical output. Guest appearances come from the likes of Oasis' Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer, Ocean Colour Scene's Steve Cradock and ex-Blur guitarist Graham Coxon. The double A side single 'Have You Made Your Mind Up/Echoes Around The Sun' is included.

Nuovo album per l'alternative rock band olandese dei Kane. 12 tracce + una hidden bonus track per questo nuovo cd 'Everythings You Are', che segue a distanza di tre anni l'ottimo 'Fearless'. La band capitanata dal vocalist Dinand Woesthoff, non si discosta molto dalle loro precedenti realizzazioni, e proseguono il discorso senza dare particolari scossoni al tutto, ma portato avanti con giudizio e un'ottima capacità compositiva, il loro lavoro. I quattro Kane, - molto popolari nel loro paese - si muovono attraverso un pop-rock a metà tra 'Matchbox Twenty e Inxs', proponendo un sound che può tranquillamente ambire per creatività e qualità realizzativa, con le più popolari rock-band citate, e perchè nò, ambire con un po' di fortuna, anche alle chart internazionali, e senza sfigurare. Nel disco ci sono alcune tracce veramente ben riuscite come; Wanna Make It Happen, R.E.A.L, o l'introduttiva 'Catwalk Criminal', e in coda, la bellissima ballad 'I Belong To You'.

Everythings You Are, nel suo complesso, risulta un ottimo album, bilanciato tra una serie di slow song e brani pop-rock, alcune sporcate con un po' di elettronica, altre più chitarristiche, che danno all'album una certa completezza, e senza mai annoiare.

Disco di cover postumo questo Mess of Blues per il chitarrista canadese Jeff Healey, mancato a marzo di quest'anno per una grave malattia. Ora Jeff dispensa blues con la sua chitarra i tanti amici prematuramente volati lassù!!

Dopo aver lottato a lungo con una grave malattia, Jeff Healey ha dovuto cedere alla forza del cancro, ed è scomparso nel scorso mese di marzo, proprio alla vigilia della publicazione di questo suo ultimo disco: Mess of Blues, primo album dopo di otto anni di silenzio forzato.

L'album è stato registrato alla fine del 2007 alla Jeff Healey's Roadhouse a Toronto, con il giro di musicisti che l'accompagnano da sempre, (Dave Murphy tastiere, il bassista Alec Fraser, Dan Noordermeer alla chitarra e Al Webster alla batteria, e segna un ritorno alle radici dei primi album con la maggior parte delle tracce (Cover) registrate in studio; Jambalaya, The Weight e Like A Hurricane di Neil Young, e due tracce I'm Tore Down e How Blue Can You Get dal vivo.

Questo disco, resterà nella memoria di chi ha amato il chitarrista, un lavoro doppiamente importante ed emozionale, primo perchè non avrà seguito, seconto perchè Jeff non è più tra noi.

Jeff Healey’s latest release, Mess Of Blues, is slated for an April 22 release on Ruf Records (internationally) and Stoney Plain Records (in Canada). His first blues-rock release in eight years, it's split between recent studio recordings, a couple recorded live at his Roadhouse club in Toronto, and a couple recorded live at the Islington Academy in London.
Though some like to think that great musicians are elevated to the status of eminent legend once they’re deceased, that announcement would be redundant in Jeff Healey’s case. He was already an authentic legend before the fact. Back in 1988, when he released his debut album, See the Light, listeners knew immediately that they were hearing greatness for the first time. The fact that he rested his Fender Stratocaster on his lap like a lap-steel and played all of the chordal and fretboard formations in an approach all his own rendered him truly innovative and courageous to guitar players and music fans everywhere. He became an authentic six-string hero instantly. The fact that he was blinded before the age of one from a rare cancer, the sole significance in forcing him to develop such an atypical playing style, shed a light of reverence on his amazing talent. Though he went on to live a rewarding and fruitful existence, garnering respect and admiration from fellow musicians and fans worldwide, cancer once again surfaced, taking him at the age of 41 on March 2nd, 2008. The shining light to the story is that his musical legacy will live on, and his memory will fill the minds and hearts of many for years to come. Mess Of Blues is very much a part of that legacy.
