Subsonica - L’eclissi

Bastano poche battute per accorgersi che di “terrestre”, nel nuovo album dei Subsonica , non c’è molto. Forti di un’esperienza nei club maturata negli ultimi due anni, i Subsonica hanno sganciato il propulsore rock delle ultime rappresentazioni e riversato nella scrittura le loro influenze elettroniche, gettando nel mucchio persino synth e arpeggiatori, non lesinando atmosfere da dance-floor (“Il centro della fiamma) e ritmiche techno miste a reggae-dub (“Piombo”, “Alta voracità”, “Alibi”). In questo, le influenze sembrano filtrate da uno scanner spazio-temporale che, mentre ricodifica in chiave Subsonica sonorità mitteleuropee (“Ali scure”), va a campionare atmosfere new wave degli anni Ottanta (“L’ultima risposta”).

La terna che apre “L’eclissi” è da manuale, forse il momento migliore dell’album. “Veleno” si costruisce, pezzo dopo pezzo, su una linea di basso martellante e su di un sotterraneo contrappunto di archi. “Ali scure”, uno dei pezzi migliori del disco, poggia su una pioggia di suoni elettronici che, avvolgendosi, formano il tema sonoro del brano. “La glaciazione”, singolo già in giro da qualche tempo, si apre con un piano digitale che si decostruisce un po’ alla volta per lasciare spazio alla base, nella quale la chitarra di Casacci evoca certe sonorità tipiche dei New Order (così come ne “Il centro della fiamma” e “Nei nostri luoghi”). (“Piombo”, ispirato a “Gomorra” di Roberto Saviano; “Canenero”, sugli abusi nei confronti dei minori) e su quello personale (“Quattrodieci” è un dolce e rabbioso ricordo di Caterina Farassino; “Nei nostri luoghi” è un viaggio intimo nei ricordi). “L’eclissi” si chiude con “Stagno”, un rallentamento quasi fisiologico prima della fine, congegnato su un tema che sembra preso da “Heard it through the grapevine” di Marvin Gaye, sul quale si intrecciano, in slow motion, un tappeto di chitarre, suoni psichedelici ed interferenze dallo spazio.
