Dopo le edizioni relative ai periodi 1976-1982 e 1983-1989, ecco finalmente in arrivo l'attesissimo box contenente le ripubblicazioni degli album dei Genesis del periodo 1970-1975!

I 5 titoli (da 'Trespass' al doppio 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway') sono i primi della lunga carriera dei Genesis, i leggendari album del periodo in cui la band era capitanata da 'Peter Gabriel'. Come per i precedenti cofanetti, anche in questo caso si tratta delle versioni rimasterizzate in SACD + DVD (per il momento non disponibili separatamente) con in più un libretto cartonato ed un bonus disc in SACD + DVD contenente brani rari, B side e video.

In più, viene reso disponibile anche il box contente gli stessi titoli in vinile da 200 grammi.

CD Review: Peter Gabriel - Big Blue Ball

'Big Blue Ball' il nuovo disco di Peter Gabriel non è davvero nuovo e non è di Peter Gabriel. "Big Blue Ball" è il frutto di tre anni di jam, session e di incontri con altri artisti sotto la supervisione del compositore inglese. A passare per gli studi Real World, un campionario degli artisti accasati presso l'etichetta di Gabriel e un discreto numero di nomi di spicco in ambito world music.

L'album è rimasto nel cassetto fino ad oggi, è un rimaneggiamento un po' artificioso e a volte anche kitsch di beat dozzinali e new age di scarsa creatività. Meglio piuttosto cercare, con un po' di sforzo, di vedere il bicchiere mezzo pieno. Molti delle tracce si basano esclusivamente sul suono, trascurando uno degli aspetti fondamentali; la composizione. Tra i più significativi: 'Habibe' (Natacha Atlas, Hossam Ramzy, Neil Sparke), arabesche e suadenti pulsazioni chill-out. 'Exit Through You' (Joseph Arthur, Peter Gabriel, Karl Wallinger), filastrocca funky. Poi Sinéad O'Connor che canta 'Everything Comes From You'.
